Application Guidelines
APPLICATION TEMPERATURE:
- Above 40°F and below 120°F
- SERVICE TEMPERATURE RANGE:
- -25°F to 180°F (-31°C to 82°C) white and colors, 0°F to 160°F (-18°C to 71°C) clear.
- WORKING TIME:
- Approximately 10-15 minutes for a 1/4" bead
- CLEANUP:
- Clean excess material with a damp cloth. Clean hands and tools with soap and water. Scrape dried excess.
- APPLICATION DIRECTIONS:
- 1. Surfaces must be cleaned down to the original substrate and free from any contaminant that may prevent adequate adhesion. 2. Remove nozzle and puncture foil seal. Reattach and cut nozzle at 45° angle to desired bead width. Place in caulking gun. 3. Apply sealant into clean joint. If necessary, smooth bead immediately. It is the sole responsibility of the user to thoroughly test proposed use with all substrates to determine suitability.
- JOINT/GAP SPECIFICATIONS:
- 2" maximum width and 1/4" maximum depth.
- DRY TIME:
- 2-4 hours.
- METHOD OF APPLICATION:
- Cartridge/caulking gun
- COVERAGE:
-
Container 1/8” Bead 1/4" Bead 3/8" Bead 1/2" Bead 10.1 oz. Cartridge 123 ft. 31 ft. 14 ft. 8 ft.
- LIMITATIONS:
- Do not apply on exterior surfaces if rain is expected within 24 hours. Air, sealant, and surface temperatures should be above 40°F and below 120°F. Protect from rain for 24-48 hours after application. Dry time may be extended in humid or cold conditions. The sealant should be dry to the touch and ready to paint in 2-4 hours with a high-quality acrylic, water-based (latex) paint that does not contain plasticizer. For other paint types, a compatibility test is recommended. To ensure neat sealant lines, mask areas adjacent to joints. Always apply sealant in a bead form. Once sealant is dry to the touch and does not transfer, remove masking tape. If joint depth exceeds 1/4”, use backing material. NOTE: Highly recommend using backer rod/backing material for all joints. Sealant may appear to have a different tint/color when initially extruded until it is fully dried/cured. Not designed for continuous submersion or use below the waterline. Not for use in structural or glazing applications. Not for use in areas where staining of porous substrates may be visible. Test before using on concrete, marble, granite, wallpaper and other porous surfaces. Store unused product in dry location at or below 100°F (37.8°C). Storage at temperatures above 120°F (48.9°C) may cause a reaction in the sealant resulting in a granulated texture. Not for use with nail holes or butt joints.
